Hi Joe,
What a lovely round.

Its a British 17 PR APC-T shot Mk? (It should be marked on the body of the projectile near the driving band)
ECC is (EDIT removed to prevent Internet/Google propagation of incorrect information - My apologies)

I don't have any drawings to hand, but there is a good thread here ---> http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/threads/3428-Show-your-17-PR-Rounds?highlight=17PR
and if you use the BOCN search, enter 17PR or 17PDR etc and hopefully you should find sufficient reading

Case

ECC - Edward Curran, Cardiff.

Primer -

No. 9 Mark III
Q - Suitable for use in Quick Firing weapons.
JTB - J & T, Boyd, Glasgow - Manufacturer
BR - R.O.F. Brigend - Filling Factory
2 43(?) Date of Filling
425 Lot No.
3AZ - I Don't know.

Projectile -

The number in the circle (I can't read it) is the Lot No.
The number below it, I believe should be 14187 - which is the design of Tracer Number.
In theory you should have Mk. IV (The only capped shot shown with an 14187 tracer is the Mk IV)(There maybe later variants)

Someone contacted me and very kindly explained the significance of 3AZ.

The letters represent the series of the empty lot number, as follows:-
Letters AA represent Lots 1 to 10
Letters AB represent Lots 11 to 20, etc,

The following letter is not used – I

After group AZ, which represents Lots 241 – 250, the series advances to BA, and so on to ZZ. The single number indicates the year of manufacture.

Thus :- 3AZ -

3 – 1943
AZ – Represents Lots 241 to 250
