Hello,

I don't have an idea about this interesting Czechoslovak case headstamp. Base diameter is ~96mm

Anyone?

Hi Akon,

thanks, I already thought it's an export headstamp.

Normally I would say "AA" means "Anti Aircraft", but in 1941 English language countries can be excluded. Still a mystery what it means and for which country it was produced?

Hi Alpini, I will look at the cartridge manufacturer's documents to see if I can find an export in 1941. If so, I'll write it.

Hi Alpini, perhaps interesting information is the production of 7.5 cm cartridges vz.37 for export to Italy.
It is quite possible that they divided the supply of cartridges between several manufacturers.
-Report from May 1941 Rokycany states that it produces: for (export) Czechoslovak cartridges 9cm vz.12/20.

Maybe something more detailed can be found...

Hi Kilsdonk
Your cartridge is also a variant of the export version, especially as far as the marking of the bottom of the cartridge is concerned.
States that used 7.5cm PLK vz.37 will have a limited number ... (including those that lost them in battle and were christened by another state)
What is interesting in the marking of your cartridge case is the matching code or brand of the cartridge factory, but there is an embossed mark of the receiver officer...

PS:
75mm AA - anti aeriana

Thank you both. Impressive information!

I only knew the word "Controaerei" for anti aircraft guns but it seems to be an older WW1 designation.

Example of a cartridge produced for the Dutch Army in 1939.

Hi fert
If you are asking for proof, then one proof is a copy of the written report on Rü I from Zbrojovka Brno/Skoda (also for subordinate companies), and here it is explicitly stated that 7.5cm vz.37 for Italy. The document can be viewed in previous posts..

Hi Akon,
I mean the proof for AA marking on case produced for Italy.
all the best

Hi fert
I'm just saying that one piece of evidence is on the table and there is specifically the production of 7.5cm cartridges for Italy in 1941, which was ordered by Škodovka from a subcontractor of the cartridge manufacturer.
Finding another piece of evidence that will confirm the first one or change it to a different context is possible, I don't rule anything out, but that won't be my role :)
If someone finds another document in this direction, it will certainly be beneficial.
Maybe also look for indirect evidence: the stay of the Italian military reception mission or directly the contract for the supply of ammunition (of course, it only refers to the numbers of the drawings)
Alternatively, find the documents on the customer's side? :)
