Looking at the filler plug in the side , i'd say a thickened Oil filled incendiary bomb. However, that's a wild guess.

That certainly is a beauty!. I agree with DJH on his description. It sure would look good with that nice 26 fuze you had at Beltring. :)

Just seen one in a book that its whas used as a training aid in Italy bye the RAF in 1944.

But no doc's on it sorry
