unknown projectile part (shrapnel ??)

Just been sorting through my spares box and found this front section from possibly a shrapnel projectile,id like to get a pos id so i can get a fuze to display in it.

Thats what i was hoping Lee but my fuze doesnt come anywhere near to fitting unless the fuzes came in different sizes

Try a percussion fuze. It's probably an HE shell.

The fuze that you've trying to screw (24/31) on is not the good one, use the fuze 22/31 for shrapnel shell
