US WW2 VT fuze (bombs and rockets)

Hello,

We talked about VT fuzes in the thread of Us-Subs (random museum) and I found on youtube a very interesting movie : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycEj8hSwdZY
(Rocket fuze T5, bomb fuze T91 (M168) and T51 (M166)).
At 19:45 there's a description of a device I didn't know before : T2E1 arming delay for safe air travel. This device prevents the vans from turning after the arming wire is withdrawn.

Regards

I have seen this very interesting film before. What I like very much is the electro-mechanical testing board for this fuzes. These are precision fine-mechanical testing instruments. I have never seen one anywhere, besides in this film. For testing the german Rheinmetall electric fuzes a very expensive portable testing set was developed and about 2000 were produced. Every airfield from which bombers took off, was supposed to get one. I really would like to find a testing-set like this. Up till now I have not even seen a picture or drawing of these. If anybody here should ever find instrumentation like this, I would appreciate it very much if he would inform me. Regarding the T2 arming device, the russians used something similar in their old style vane-armed bombs. Instead of a clockwork-gear they used a pyrotechnic delay.
Regards,
Bellifortis.

Also with measurements so I can make a new dial

Thanks

The guy I got it from had both types of the fuse bar and cylinder style as well but someone wanted them more then I did. He did not know that the delays went to the fuses.

Would of like to got them for my 1000 to display with! Oh well. Thanks for posting pics
