"V-35" for ZOF-49 120 mm mortar

Well-Known Member
hello,
I am looking for information (photos,drawing,...) on the Russian fuze "V-35" which is mounted on the ZOF-49 120 mm mortar.

Thank you

Mogway

The fuze deisgnation is "3V35" and it is used on all HE types for the 120mm rifled mortar. The round designation is 3OF-49 not ZOF-49, a wide spread error in reading Cyrillic. Even Jane's got it all wrong.

Yes the Cyrillic designation is not in doubt, just the ability people have in transcripting it into English or any other language.

The 3V35 looks like a M-12 mortar fuze. I have no info on the internal construction so far. Wish it would be different.

Have you seen it in a round for the D-10T gun?
It is merely an assumption, but both the 100mm 2A70 and the 120mm 2A51 are low velocity guns while the 100mm D-10T has a much higher velocity so the fuzes should be different. Maybe it is only in Hungary but i have never seen OF-32 shells for the T-55 tanks with fuze other than V-429

No, I haven`t. Maybe because in Manual for fuze M-12 we can read this:
"Fuze M-12 using with high-explosive mortars calibers 107-mm and 120-mm."

And in Manual for D10-T, D10-TG and D10-T2C we can read this :)
"For shoting from tanks guns caliber 100-mm are using those projectiles:
1. Shot УОФ-412 with high-explosive grenade ОФ-412 (with fuzes РГМ-6, В-429 or РГМ);
2. Shot УБР-412Д with antitank-tracer shel БР-412Д (with fuzes МД-8 and ДБР-2);
3. Shot УБР-412Б and 3УБР3 with antitank-tracer shel БР-412Б (with fuzes МД-8 and ДБР-2);
4. Shot УБР-412 with antitank-tracer shel БР-412 (with fuze МД-8);
5. Shot УПБР-412 with practise tracer shell ПБР-412;
6. Shot УОФ-412У with hihg-explosive grenade ОФ-412 (only for D10-T)."

Hello,
The M-12 fuze looks at the design level to the 3V35 fuze but the 3V35 fuze has three operating modes such as MRV-U fuze (super quick, short delay and long delay) while the M-12 fuze has only two modes operating (super quick and delay).

And how do you explain this?:tinysmile_shy_t:

Maybe because that round wasn`t put in my manual 1971 year. Myabe you know when did appeare this round? Maybe after 1990 year.
And what exactly I should explain? I don`t see anything in that shot article about fuzes :) You asked about fuzes and I answered about fuzes :)

It seems there is a confusion between the 100mm ammo for the D-10 (+series) ammo and the 100x192SR round for the 2A70 (as used in the BMP-3) which do not use the same fuzes.

I wrote my comment as an answer to this because i've only seen this fuze in 3UOF17 (for the BMP-3) and never in 3UOF-10 (T-55) although both cartridge use the same OF-32 projectile.

Ah, ok. Knowing you I did not intend to say the confusion was on your side.
Though it seems there are variations in the projectiles for the 2A70:
