In the book "Von Flanschengeschossen und Wolframkernen by Manfred Stegmuller there is a photo on page 114 of an extremely long German 4.2 cm squeezebore projectile which is, according to the caption is Bill Woodin's. I got in touch with Bill who said it was OK to ask about it on BOCN.
I've attached a few rather poor photos but they give the general idea.
My query is what sort of case would this go in or would it have been loaded separately. With the German 4.2 squeezebore rounds the projectile was seated inside the case with the forward flange level with the top of the case. Clearly with the one in the photos the neck of the case would have needed to be very very long.
Any photos/drawings would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Dave.
