Length (not including fuze) - 260mm

Diameter - 65 - 75mm

Distance from base to driving band - 25 -30mm

Diameter of driving band - 10mm

Mobile phone length - 110mm

It looks a lot like a WWI 76.2mm Russian.

It looks more like an Italian HE shell to me, possibly 75mm as its too long for the 65mm.

Not Russian, shape of fuze is odd and stamp SB is not Russian.

Driving band securing looks Italian

it's italian for sure, stamp and shape are typical for it. A look inside "Italian and french Explosive Ordnance" should help. I think it is from 2nd WW as the shape of 1st WW italian shells is a little different. But the way of driving band fixation is not a real italian characteristic, this one seems to be invented by Krupp and therefore used in many, many countries.

I have the 65/17 model shell and it is 235mm long not 260mm as Pete says. Driving band is more like 7mm than 10mm. Were there two models?

I think Peter has measured with little accuracy.
as I know, there wasn't model so long.

italian 75mm HE or Incendiary shells had sharper ogive. while 65/17 shells were more rounded.
I confirm my idea, 65/17.
