Wooden Stick gren carry box..

Bought this one a while ago,, not sure if i posted or not as way to much going here these days,,,

anyway it is marked both M24 and M43 ( over stamped ) as was used for one then re stamped for the other.

Hi Nick,,why the two differnt types of containers for these grenades metal and wood,,are the metal ones for field use and the wood factory use or is it just a variant in packaging with no end user difference
 
Hi Alan,, As war went on the raw material ( steel ) was harder to find to make metal racks and boxes for transportation so wood was used,, but wooden items are harder to find as after the end of the war it was all burnt to keep the home fires burning and also to build with.
