Hello all,
can anybody help me with this probably Flare or Signal Rifle Grenade please.
Lenght of the grenade body without the part that holds Fuze 119mm with 29,7mm diamter, made out of very thin brass. The lower steel part is 10,5mm.

Hello,
Known as smoke-incendiary (possible wp) Austro-Hungarian ww1 rifle grenade.
Body could be made of aluminium or brass.
I don't know the official designation (Brandgewehrgranate)
Rare and nice condition

The official name is either "Gewehrleuchtgranate" or "Gewehrsignalgranate". Both are sharing the same body. The Leuchtgranate had a white colored star and the Signalgranate a red colored star. The back part of the Leuchtgranate was covered with yellow paraffine and the Signalgranate with red colored paraffine. Bot were obsolete in 1917 and replaced by the flare cartridges for signal pistols.
