WW1 Belgian Gas Grenade??

Hi all,

Another oddity from me. I was told this is a WW1 Belgian gas grenade. All the part fit together perfectly with tight seals (except the small part that's broken off on the adaptor).

Anyone seen one before? or found any details in manuals/books?

Thanks,
Luke

Never seen before.
Is it a fake ?
Lot of examples on the web (jam pot, salt & pepper, etc)

This is what I am trying to find out. The glass has one single large thread that goes round about once. The adaptor is a perfect fit for this thread with the remnants of a sealing gasket. It looks pretty viable but still not sure.

Unless i'm losing the plot, Belgium didn't have any gas weapons. They may have utilised those of other countries, but didn't have any of their own.

Must be made up then? But strange it has such a perfectly fitting adaptor and the right size for the fuze.

oh well. I seem to be collecting fake grenades recently. I can start a display of what not to buy :tinysmile_fatgrin_t :tinysmile_fatgrin_t :tinysmile_fatgrin_t
