I picked this up today. The overall condition is very good. The insides are
gone, I supose most are like this. But the tail safety is there so the look is retained.
Question, the OD original finish is under the black - Should I try to remove that ?
Could it also be original ~

I have managed to go Green ~
That is I have removed the overpaint with a paint remover that did not
affect the older paint. The green while worn is quite satisfactory with at least 80%
remaining. It has the look of a darker green over a lighter green OD. But this could
also be caused by a clear coating over the base green , shellac for instance.
I dare not go further or it could end quit badly ~

I'm curious as to the fair value of one of these ? This one cost me $114 Cdn or $82.50 U.S. or L 64.5 pounds. I can only
find one online for sale at $600 U.S. restored which I suspect is quite high and a lot of others sold with no price showing.
I know a nice one sold up here for $250 some years back in secounds ~ I imagine as these things go in the U.S. this is a more
common type to find, up here all one see's are ww2 white 11lb practice types.
