Zeit 41 airburst/impact overdose

This little lot is a joint purchase with me and the wafster and
i had the enjoyable task of cleaning and sorting.

Using my mates 450cfm compressor and glass blasting equipment
and some shopping baskets to stop the things blowing into orbit

it only took an hour or so to clean 110 fuses.

They are all of a mixed manufacture and vary in condition but
will be put to good use.

Good effort Phil & Waff, its good to see a few of these on the market.

Dave.

Wow-never seen so many of those Fuzes in one hit.
As Dano said, when will the grand opening be as you have the quote "shopping baskets" already !

Mammoth blast job Satan, bet you were pleased when you finished that little lot.

You stated they were all crudded u with chalk and the like, were they buried as soon as they knew the allies were coming !

Very interesting and well done-more vital history saved:tinysmile_fatgrin_t

History is a bit vague but i can probley assume that these were buried
just as a means to get rid of them.
They came from germany so could have been an old luftwaffe base
or ammo dump, but they were covered with baked on crust like a chalky deposit

Nice find.

Thanks for that Phil !

Don't get it on your hands Phil, I've done a few contaminated land jobs with all sorts of bits of crusty stuff on and in the ground that was really nasty.

Dave.

No worries Dave as the protective clothing worn for glass blasting
is very tough, and you breath through regulated air feeds.

Cheers old mate
When you think that the glass powder i used to clean these things up is as fine as dust and can only be used once it is the way to go with the ally fuses as it will leave the profiles sharp and the ally with a very light sheen.
you can read every inspectors mark on every fuse and does not alter deface or etch the surface.

Best phil ps i will give all those 67s the same treatment
