The attached photos show a 1954 dated British brass shell case. 105mm calibre, 770mm case length, rim diameter 159mm (it has a thick rim).
I've shown it next to a more familiar King Tiger round for scale.

Listed in the Robert Hawkinson cartridge list with the same dimensions is:
"105mm T 43, 26mm Screw in Adaptor for Electric Primer, solid 11.6mm THICK Rim USA Tank"

There is no mention in the Hawkinson book of a British version.

Does anyone have any photographs/information about the American version or better still of the British one. It would be interesting to know what sort of projectile went in this. Was it for example ever considered as a weapon for the 120mm Conqueror?
