Nothing French.
Typical Swiss markings (seems to be ww1 era).
We have a similar one painted grey (later model) in our museum, 490mm long, called 12cm Haubitze Minen Granate nomenclature 591-2360
Info here : http://www.loutan.net/olivier/archives/2021/03/31/obus-dobusier-dartillerie-de-campagne-de-120-mm-modele-1912-l14-armee-suisse/

Example of similar markings on swiss 75mm shrapnel.
Red paint used to be for shrapnel, so your shell do not really match with the 12cm Hb M.Gr.

12 cm shrapnel and Gr-shrapnel I know are shorter.

Thanks a lot,
Swiss stuff is not usually found at the waste bin in the Czech Republic.
