15 Pr QF

Here is the original pattern of shell for the Erhardt guns purchased on the qt in 1901 after the quite inadequate performance of the 15 Pr BL equipments during the Boer Wars. The guns were supplied with a small stock of ammunition, after consumption of wch the existing 15 Pr shells were provided. Second pic shows the base, calibre and Forged Steel, and I expect that Tim can confirm, or otherwise, that the manufacturer was Erhardt from the company logo at six oclock.
But can anyone please provide me with a cartridge case, either original manufacturer or Mk 2 by VSM or whoever. Excellent price paid, or possible item(s) out of the swaps box.

Alan,

I believe that to be the Rheinmetall logo. Heinrich Ehrhardt was one of their senior staff. This is one of Alpini's areas of expertise, he will be able to give chapter and verse.
