17pdr primer

G-Day Schussy,

What you are looking for is the primer for the cart. case, a fuse is what goes in the front of a projectile.

Depending on what type of propellant was used in the cartridge case & the style of projectile (which some times determined this) certain numbers of primers were used.

A No.1 was used in blank, others used in specific rounds were: Nos. 9, 11 & 33, then there were different marks if there were subtle changes to the primer. Eg: No9 MkII, No33 MkI

Hope this helps,

Regards Ozzi.

G'day Ozzi,
Thanks for your reply/help. I bought 6 different base primers at the
gunshow in Brisbane and I think there is NO.1 AND NO.9 amongst them.
kind regards,schussy
