18 Pounder Shrapnel shell

Hi all

My latest acquisition from Militaria 2015 down at Stoneleigh Park a 1918 dated 18pr Shrapnel shell, together with a transit plug and primer cover.

Can anyone tell me what some of the stamps on the shell mean.

Hi, I'm not sure what the numbers above the drive band are (probably serial/batch numbers) The shell is marked as an 18 pounder Mark 12 made by the Elswick Ordnance Company in 1918 (Normally there is a full date DD/MM/YYYY - But yours only states the year as 18). The case was made by Vickers sons and Maxim in 1917. Nice looking piece.
