2 inch, 51mm, 52mm?

I understand that the old British 2 inch mortar bombs were redesignated 51mm and are still made in India under that designation.

However, IMI used to make 52mm mortar bombs, also said to be based on the 2 inch.

Were these in reality the same calibre, just given a different designation for some reason?
