2" Mortar Tube - what type?

Hello All,

I have a deactivated 2" mortar but it is a version with a turn wheel trigger, not the more commonly seen metal trigger and string arrangement.

What model/age would this item be?

Cheers, Chris

You will find that most spade plate 2"mortars (small U shape base) were in fact once base plate mortars with the large flat base that supported the mortar free hand in the early production period. Most of these had the round turn firing wheel or knobs, so your mortar is correct.
