2" V1/N Bakelite cap

A Bakelite V1/N cover looks like for Navy use.
Who can identify which 2" item it is used on. It is not a 2" mortar.

60mm longx 57.5mm wide. Looks like 43mm x14tpi threads RH.

Is this the 2" unrotated rocket fired from the multi-pods. I have a target rocket but it only has a cap on the nose. The HE etc must have an external thread to use this cap. I had not seen the cap or 2" U designation before. Thanks for the info. Ron.
