20 MM Hispano \"Peardrop\" Projectile.

Another "oddball" that got into my old collection was this one, it appears to be a "hard nosed" Armour Piercing projectile with standard driving band but has a very strange profile.
Made from heat treated steel as per the norm for the A.P. Hispano rounds, it bears no markings of either date or manufacturer.
Another mystery item-can anyone help with more information?hmy:
