20mm Cannon Round I.D Wanted

I am looking for info on this 20mm cannon round. Some of the markings i can make out on the projectile are LOT 703 MK 3 24

What country?
What type of round is it?

Thanks for the ID i also have one of these,as the paint on mine was very poor i have stripped it off to make the markings more clear The Fuze is marked MK 26-1 R R.....do you know who or what R R stands for ?

AA round? As far as I can make out from the photo, the case is a Hispano, not Oerlikon. While some Hispano cannon may have been used in the AA role, it was primarily used as an aircraft gun. More recently, a version of the Hispano was used a general-purpose deck gun by the USCG.

It may be MK 26, the pic I with the fuze info is kind of hard to read, but it does say AA and is a US round, I'll check to see if I ahve anything on the RR, but my guess is manufacture, this is a WW II round

And the fired case that the projectile is married to is Canadian manufacture.

Why HE ? Wasn't a green colored Mk3 indicating an inert filled projectile ?

Those are for the Oerlikon gun, which has a different case from the Hispano shown in the original post.

Thank you Orpheus72 for posting that picture of the Mk XXVI fuze, it has cleared up something that has puzzled me for years, in the attached picture is a brass Mk XXVI fuze body marked R R as the one in the above thread, next to it is a item that came with a 20mm Oerlikon projectile that i had not seen any reference to until now.
