The green Kynoch case on the bottom row, is that green anodised aluminium or lacquered steel? (I presume the former as the requirement for the latter was withdrawn in '47). Any idea where it fits in with the RG aluminium cases and the significance of "BL"?
It is anodised aluminium. As far as I can make out from the ADD Progress Reports a production order for 250,000 cases was placed with ICI Metals and RG. Presumably Kynoch were part of ICI Metals. I wondered if BL was the sub-contractor making the blanks for drawing (eg Britains Ltd) or the supplier of the aluminium.
