20mm Rotating Bands query

Happy new year to all members!

Quick question regarding 20mm rotating bands, the bands in my possession have 9 x diagonal groves round the outside of them with lots and lots of vertical smaller grooves on the inside(item made of brass).

I was wondering if these markings can be used in anyway to identify what would have fired them i.e plane, Anti-aircraft, deckgun etc?
