This projectile has me stumped. It sort of has the look of a 25mm Hotchkiss "ball" projectile, but I cannot place it with anything.
Total length is 87.5mm, three measurements at the midsection average in diameter at 21.7mm. The two groves average 20mm in diameter and the base is 18.5mm in diameter.
Weight is 215.3 grams.
The projectile will NOT attract a strong magnet at any location on the projectile and it appears to be solid copper.
The projectile was originally purchased at a small estate auction in the middle of the U.S.
Any help with an identification would be greatly appreciated.
