25mm Besa rounds?

Hi

I was given about 400 of these when I was younger are they Besa rounds? Cleaned a few up ages ago but the rest are like the ones on the right.

15mm Besa perhaps?

They have a very strong solid steel core. A few had the ends peeled back and the core poking through.

Diameter of body and at the driving bands?
Weight, if possible, in grams?

Have you got a photo of Any peeling ? .
Seems odd as the copper jacket is very thick at the tip.
I've seen boys rounds expose tips but not a besa projectile .

Looks the same as one I cut in half with some pipe cutters. Don't seem to be able to find that one. I did find the one I drilled a hole through and I remember it took some going, it's in the first picture I posted.
I'll take some measurements.
I'll route though and see if I can find any peeled one, think they were binned. I suppose it all depends on what the head ends up hitting.

Ldr, they definitely look like 15mm BESA AP.

Do the shell cases ever come up? I'd love to get one complete.

They do turn up now and again but you have the really hard parts to find,unfired projectiles/bullets(never heads by the way,the head is the base of the case hence the markings are called the headstamp) rarely turn up on their own....nice find

This is a picture of the general look of them, most of the crud is mud. Think the plastic bit is a fuse from a grenade, not sure what the item to the left of it is (pic 1), if anything.

The plastic bits are indeed grenade related, from a 247 allways fuze. See this link for more info.
