25pdr parts needed for restoration.

Can anyone help me with parts for a 25pdr?

I'm missing the elevation & traversing gears from a Mk2 saddle.

This is an Australia Gun made by Chubb in 1943, it was stripped for a few parts by a museum and then thrown into a 'too hard to restore' basket before I managed to acquire it.

Hoping someone out there can help.

Howdy Tommo,

The breach block only was made by CHUBB safes, look along the barrel sleeve & you will probably find another manufacturers crest (General Motors Holden), the barrel liner was probably made by BHP or CSR, check the monogram on the muzzle crown.

A lot of firms pulled together during WWII to make the 25pdr in Australia, therefore the guns weren't made by one specific manufacturer.

GMH did make the greater amount of components for the Aussie made guns.

Hope this info is of interest!

Regards Ozzi.
