Hi kilsdonk,
this is a german signal case from pre WWI (1894 - 1915). Produced by Georg Egestorff / Linden (Hanover). Later known as HANOMAG. The production from ammunition was in WWII "P120" or "emp".
best regards
Horst
How many different makers of these flare cases were there? My one example has D.W.u.M.at the top,the flowery logo thingies either side, and K
at the bottom.
There are a few of manufacturers. AWS = Artilleriewerkstatt Spandau /
E&G = Ehrich & Grtz, Berlin / D.W.u.M. K = Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken Karlsruhe / HW = Hermann Weiffenbach, Mnchen / UTTENDOERFFER NRNBERG / GE = Georg Egestorff, Linden / Zndhtchen und Patronenfabrik Schnebeck - Elbe / R.W.S. Nrnberg / and last but not least a trade mark shows three cells of a honeycomb = Allgemeine Electricitts - Gesellschaft, Berlin.
Best regards
Horst
Thanks, I have had the one with the three honeycomb cells for years. I bought it for 1 at a car boot sale when I was 13. I knew it was German but never knew where it was made.
