Recently on the IAA Forum (https://forum.cartridgecollectors.o...mortar-drill-cartridge-mk1-for-tanks/63943/10) a person asked for information concerning a family heirloom which has now been identified as a 3.7inch Mortar Mk1 Drill round. The attached photos were provided by the owner and Forum members "Defender" and "TimG" provided information.

Link to a PDF with info provided by TimG:

Can anyone provide additional information. I assume there was a fuze adaptor and fuze with the drill round, any information on these?

Brian,

No need for a fuze adapter as the fuze hole in the "projectile" is threaded 2" GS fuze hole. Would have used a No. 106E fuze.

What a nice family heirloom! Very scarce.
I used to have the wooden drill version of this many years ago. Now sadly not in my collection but the attached is some info about it.
Dave.
