I picked this up today. It had this brass base attached which was held on by the fuze.
The fuze will not budge no matter what I do so I'm leaving it lest more damage occurs (not all the rounding by myself)
As it is a plug and has been out before in the past to put the base on it i'm not overly concerned.
Fuze is a MKlll prior to being inerted. The projectile is undated but well enough marked.
When found the whole projectile was painted gloss black and the rotating band has been smoothed down some what.
Now a case for same, never one around when you need one ~
