I'm trying to find out for which gun this shell case is.
The length is 249mm
The opening is 53mm
Can anyone tell me which type of gun it is??

I would guess that it is for a Vickers 3 pounder by the date on the case. It was used on smaller vessels up and into WW2. Was often used for saluting guns. Loos like it is marked Mark 4, though I cannot find a Mark 4 listed.

The length of this one suggests it is the cutt down saluting version. The normal length should be 47x376R.
