.303 aluminum case

Yesterday, I was going through an assortment of dummy rounds and ran across this assumed dummy .303. I say dummy due to its missing primer, and appears to have never had one installed. Another oddity, to me, is the aluminum case (assumed as it's not magnetic).

Before I go and glue it to a display board, is this particular round of any significance?

Yes! It is probably an Australian made inspection round since " MG "= Small Arms Ammunition Factory No. 2 Footscray, Australia. Not overly common here in the States.

Most likely it is a tin plated brass cartridge case.
