Approved on 17th July 1893 and was in use until the introduction of the Mk VI in 1904, apart from some sporadic manufacture during later years mainly for the colonies.
You can narrow down the date also by checking the rim detail because from 1903 the rim detail changed to enable the use of the 5 round charger that had been introduced for the SMLE. I did have a photo of the two rim details side by side but I cant find it I will check again and put the photo up if I can find it.
Although it was approved in July 1893 it wasn't actually introduced until 1st December 1893 and was declared Obsolete by 31st August 1926.
