37mm Japanese ?

I picked up this 37mm projectile yesterday and first thought it was a typical American 37mm tank projectile until I took a closer look and realized the only markings are what appears to be a double struck kanji mark below the drive band. Their is trace remnants of red paint above the drive band.

US WWII M63 HE 37mm projectile. Standard HE round for tank and antitank guns during WWII. It is not unusual to find them without markings. I do not believe that is a Japanese kanji figure.

Thanks for the info, enclosed are pictures of another US 37mm that is well marked.
