It was the 70's and the rounds were still live ! Inside the weapon and were about to be salvaged by non military personal . 50 calls were also removed and buried near by . Both aircraft later recovered one was in a museum near me for years but now gone to the US I think ?
but yes I agree shame it was done but safety first ,last and always!
