A mixed lot of projectiles I bid on arrived today, and it has an M51 (as marked on the rotating band) projectile that has a top end that I’m not sure what to make of. It’s not flatlike that of the M51a1, nor does it have a windscreen like the M51a2, but it is painted all over as though it isn’t supposed to have an area covered by a windscreen. Can anyone shed light on the specifics of this projectile? The stamp text is illegible right where it counts.
