37mm projectile ?????

Hi I wonder if anyone can help , I thought this projectile was for the M16 37mm case but it's drive band is wrong ,
It has a base plug but has an empty body ,
Does anyone recognise the markings these are the best I can do , it has a strange W

There was a seller in the UK who got a bunch of them, easily a hundred or so. He said they where for the M3 AT gun but clearly not. Since then there has been many discussions on Facebook groups and here but nothing has been found on them.

Could it be Italian? they had similar cartridges to the US 37mm,and also a variety of 37mm types.
Though that marking doesn't look Italian,more Cyrillic,Hungarian?

I'm going to check all my Primers , that sure is close to the markings ,
The Base plug is in line with the projectile ,
