4.5cm M36 with interesting marks

Shell Shifter

Well-Known Member
I picked this up today because of the "inscriptions".

The side of the casins says (in case you can't read from the photos):

m B
4,7cm Pak(t)
4,7cm PakK36(t)
-465g
???l.Stz.P. M36(?107310)
sem1941/2
pla 12.3.42.V

There is a rectangle with what looks like an eagle inside

The head has the following stamps

auu
11 41
4,7cmM36

Written in white paint is:
Pzgr
L'spur

Can anyone suggest what this is?

Thanks.

it's a czech case for their 4,7 cm anti tank guns. You found a not very common case in nice condition!

I'll improve your text and explain something:

m. B. = mit Bleidraht = with lead wire = used to de-copper the barrels
4,7cm Pak(t) = 4,7 cm anti tank gun (t=czech)
4,7cm PakK36(t) = I think it's the 4,7 cm tank gun, later designation 4,7 cm K.w.K. (t)
-465g = weight of powder charge
Ngl.Str.P. M36(1/10/310) = Nitroglycerin Streifen Pulver (Ngl. powder stripes with their measurements)
sem 1941/2 = powder factory code + date = Explosia A.G. Semtin near Pardubitz (Czech Republic)
pla 12.3.42.V = loading factory = unknown to me, sorry

There is a rectangle with what looks like an eagle inside = WaA acceptance stamp

The head has the following stamps

auu = case factory = Patronenhuelsen- u. Metallwarenfabrik AG, Rokycany, Pilsen, Czechoslovakia
11 41 = november 1941
4,7cmM36 = designation of the case

Written in white paint is:
Pzgr = armour piercing
L'spur = tracer
