I was offered two of these, and need help in ID and value.
I think they are 40mm MK2 shells from WW2, I think they are navel as it looks like anchor on the base of the shell? I don't have them in hand or any better pics at this time.
My first question is, as usual, are they inert? WW 2 pdrs are very firmly crimped in, which makes it difficult to pull the projectiles and the same can be said for the fuzes. From viewing some hundreds rounds these look pretty untouched. Beware of these, as better safe than sorry. common price in US, about $150-$200 in good condition . Varies as to fuzing.
Thanks for the info. Yes, I think they are inert from what I was told. But I see the primer still looks live, and they do look untouched. I was told the fuze unscrews but not sure if the heads have been pulled.
