Basically these are military use paintball rounds!!!
The old days of firing blanks & shouting abuse like `I bloody shot you- lie down`!!! & waiting for a `DIE STAFF` bod to decide are long gone!
Didn`t get to do much of the GOD GUN stuff.
Hi Terry,
there is a bit missing from your live one, a soft plastic round nosed projectile filled with paint, are the neck parts on yours plastic? the 03 dated one I have has a alloy neck and shoulder and it's got macho pink paint in it!
You might want to ensure that the live round is not subject to Sect 1 of the 1968 Firearms Act. The fact that it discharges a single projectile ( regardless of what that projectile does ) would make it subject of a Firearms Certificate in GB.
(Apologies if you already have a FAC)
I have not seen the plastic type before, like Smle my examples have the aluminium neck. In British service I believe the red marker is the L28A1 and the blue the L29A1.
If anyone has a spare plastic type please let me know.
Heres a different version, but the same concept. The rifle needs a special reciever in order to make the round function properly, and so you can't load live ammo. The recoil of the .22 blank inside of the round triggers the recoil to blow back the action and feed the next round.
Ah, the UTM system of silent practice/exercise ammunition, quiet a bit different to the Canadian practice marker rounds actually, nice section of one of these rounds Wolganggross thanks for showing it to us
With TonyE not seen the plastic type before.
Would be intersted in a `spare` fired one if available.
The FAC (UK) requirement is a good point & as we like to do legal & safe here & is duly noted.
