Have been searching all morning so now resorting to you guys.
Picked up 2 very good condition brass cases.
Measure 55mm x 223mm. Rimmed with no headstamp.
Pressed in percussion primers.
Dia of rim is 68.5mm+. dist from top to start of neck is 33mm. Base to neck 80mm.
Unable to post pics as will not download & as yet no-one has enlightened me as to what I am doing wrong??!!

I think they are 57x225R70 cases for the 57 mm Nordenfeldt. They have been used by Germany, Belgium, Russia and the UK. Belgium cases are typically marked ("EP" and a 2-digit mark for the year of manufacture), the others I am not sure about.

Cheers gents - must recalibrate the tape measure!!
Certainly looks good as the 57 x 225R.
As I said no headstamp markings at all & they have not been ground or polished off.
I do not have one in my collection so for me a good find.

Here my 2 complete Belgium cartridges with emptied canister projectiles. Belgium used them as Fortress Guns.

BTW: they are up for trade (large bore WW2 cases) :tinysmile_fatgrin_t
