57mm / 6 pounder projectile

Hi everyone,
this 57mm/6 pounder projectile is in a winchester case (1898).
There are no stamps on the projectile that i can see.
The photo shows it to be a flat head (practice/proof),not sure
the base is threaded for the hotchkiss base fuze type.

Can anyone correctly identify it for me.

I have never seen a flat projectile like that in this type-- maybe altered ?

Maybe some one milled point off to get a flat surface to drill a hole through to make a lamp?
