Had a good find recently!
Got this unfired British 6 pounder projectile
Stamped APC (2.9)? 6Pdr 7CWT XT
with 43 under this.
Drive Band has a 3 stamped on it
Not too sure about the 2.9 bit as it was a bit corroded & scorched.
Cap was holed & dented but as you can see from the pic I have started restoring it.

Need help about the APC part - when I saw it I thought is was n APBC and I believe APC in this caliber were only up to 42 and APBC from 43??
Can someone please clarify this and also, let me know the colours as I want to paint & stencil it and put in a case I have?
Thanks

Hi hicky1300 please would you post some more photos, the one you posted is very small and I can't see any detail on it at all.
Thanks.
Dave.

APC1.jpgThis is a good as I can get it size wise - any tips would be appreciatted as this always seems to ba aproblem with my posts!!

If you right click on the picture and the click copy on the drop down you can paste to Word or Office doc - this generates a bigger pic.
A pain but the best I can do!!

It certainly is stamped APC but I did think it was an APBC.
As I said my info/understanding wasthat the APC was upto 42 then APBC43 on.
Either way does anyone know the paint & stencil details for this?

hi Hicky, try these for the official colour codes by year - I've included all solid shot in case you get anything else that needs painting. The APC shot are the middle row of photo1. Nice mountains you have in Suffolk by the way

Dave
