6 Pounder Hotchkiss Shell

Some 'before' pics of my newly acquired rusted but unfired 6pdr Hotchkiss shell. (The case was acquired separately today) My aim is to clean the paint off, remove the rust, fill in the pitting and repaint. All being well I shall post some progress pics as it develops.

How easy is it to find the correct base fuse for these?

Stripped back to clean metal via chemical and mechanical means. I've now started filling in the pitting with car body filler.

Now filled and sanded. As with the 13pdr, it's not perfect but it's an improvement. I shall shortly break out a tin of Humbrol satin black enamel paint - I'm hoping multiple coats will help even out some of the remaining imperfections.
