6PDR CASE MARKINGS

Hi all

I'm trying to help id the black printed markings on this 6pdr case. I'm quite sure the black letters APDS stands for Armoured Piercing Discarding Sabot, but would someone know what the S & V stand for please.

TIA.

Super velocity. Also stencilled on the packaging in large white letters, often as SVDS. That's a nice case and peculiar to apds as it uses a roll crimp at the top of the neck rather than the usual indent crimp between the mouth and the shoulder.

Awesome thank you very much. Apparently this case was found in Oosteerbeek at one of the Polish anti-tank sqn positions.

I just remembered the packaging is marked SVDS, not APSV as I previously wrote, I have edited my post.
Thanks. I've looked at the image I posted again and there appears to be a T inside a circle where the 1943 is stamped. Would this denote TRACER?
