7.5 Swiss?

Well-Known Member
Hello all,
Found this case in my shooting jacket pocket, I assume it dropped in there when I was shooting the SIG assault rifle in Switzerland two years ago. Can anyone confirm that this is the round I should purchase for my straight pull Schmidt-Rubin 7.5 rifle?
The empty case pictured must have been fired from the SIG Assault weapon as it has the dented case, (from striking the ejection port), and the swollen case neck, (similar to what happens to 20mm Oerlikon cases)?
I would hate to damage my mint S/R which has a perfect bore and all matching numbers.
Any advice welcome,
Cheers,
navyman.

Your straight pull Schmidt-Rubin 7.5 rifle should be 7.5 x 54, I have a friend who has one if you need any info or reloading data please let me know.

cheers
Richard.

Thanks both for the the info,
I will check out the details.
Peashooter, pm in post.

@ Peashooter
The Gewehrpatrone 11 is introduced in 1911 (7,5 x 55 )
It was the replacement for the Gewehrpatrone 90/23 (7,5 x 54,5 )
Each rifle made after 1911 was made for the GP11 round

The problem is not the reloading data. The problem is how to get the original Swiss primers.
The Swiss primers are longer as usual. Thats means if you dont use them, the firing pin is pressing the primer deeper in the case and you have a misfire.

If you use for example Norma cases, you dont have this kind of problems.
