Hello.
Can anyone tell me about the .700 Hubel Express?
Cartridge dimensions ?
Is it based on an existing cartridge? Am interested because it looks like a cannon cartridge...
And so on....
Thanks very much (i tried to ask on IAA but am unable to work out how to post there).
There is a .700 Hubel Express, created by Ed Hubel, which utilised a .50 BMG case reformed to incorporate a belt and take a .700 cal bullet. (Reformed cases have a new head-stamp stamped over the original)
There is also a shorter version, some sources call it a .700 SHE (Short Hubel Express), other sources call it a .700 3 1/4” Hubel Express. My understanding is it was to fit into an Enfield action.
Roberson Cartridge Company are now making new brass for both variants.
