IMG_0372.jpgGot this good condition 75mm DEC case today at St Truiden Flea Market along with a few other bits.
I don`t normally look at these as I have a few in my collection but the headstamp had me intrigued!
Headstamp is 75 DEC TE 370L 18 ScBx (x with a line under) USA.
Am I to take it this is an American case from 1918? Never seen one with USA on it before so I hope this doesn`t seem too obvious aquestion!!

Hicky,

Its a French case: Sc.Bx Usine Schneider de Bordeaux

75 DE C stands for '75mm De Campagne' (field artillery)

Thanks for that Orpheus - I knew that - I wanted clarification/confirmation of the USA part?

Thanks Orpheus
Looked at the link & with my limited French it translate as `supplier of metal`.
So basically the raw material (brass/copper) came from America & the case was made in Bordeux.
Interesting that they bother to id the material supplier? Possibly a quality control thing?
