Hello,

while clearing a former demolition area we came upon this strange combination.

A 76mm / 17pdr shell with fuze no80...I have never seen that combination before.

Best regards,
Markus

Doesn't look like a no 80 to me! More like a 221 or something similar, not my field of collecting though.

Basically you're right :) there is a smoke / screening version that has only one.
But the dimensions are wrong for that one either.

I noticed that the rudiment of the night tracer is missing on this shell. Is it screwed out or does the shell has a flat base?

It makes sense to find such a shell there; the area was a Marinesperrzeugamt before it was converted into a demolition area.

Thanks again.

Best regards,
Markus
